Governor Richardson is unique - a candidate that you can BELIEVE in, in the old-fashioned inspirational way. He is the only Democrat who seems to “get” the problem of world poverty and he has the attitude and personal character to get things done.
Best experience, best plans/platforms, best character, and best electability against whatever isolationist the GOP nominates.
It’s a no brainer to me - if you’re reading this site Bill Richardson is the right candidate for you.
He didn’t say much but he almost sounds human! I am so happy that Richardson realizes that things aren’t magically going to get better overnight. Also cancelling the debt would make a world of a difference to a nation that is in desperate need.I supported the debt cancelation however my concern is that “forgiving” the debt may lead them to the impression that this will be the new normal thing for us to do. Also the money isn’t going to make any difference if the leaders and those in power don’t use it wisely. In my oppinion many of these poor nations have become poor because of reasons that we may have a hard time changing. These peoples beleifs and lives aren’t going to waiver without a lot of positive work from us and the rest of the world.
Sounds like a man with a plan!
I am gratified that Richardson says that he will urge the IMF to cancel 100% of debt owed by the world’s poorest countries. The perpetual debt is where most of the problems lie in the third world. Debt cancellation would free up money for social needs, medical help, education, and a host of other needs.
no one cares? what about us?
